The Cak of Papuan Style

The Cak of Papuan Style 1Cak... cak.... cak.... sir... The voice of the dancers goes softly while accompanying their own dance. Although they look awkward, the art composition of Limbak is still interesting. Moreover, the simple dance movement is perfectly combined with beautiful songs so that the show looks more interesting. The performance combining the elements of dance and a cappella in fact draws the attention of the audience.

It is the presentation of the cak art performed by students of the Institute of Indonesian Arts and Culture (ISBI) Papua at the piodalan or temple anniversary of the Surya Bhuana Temple in Jayapura, some time ago. It is inspired by the art of Balinese Kecak featuring the local framework of Papua. The Papuan art and culture are clearly seen in terms of their costumes, decoration and vocal of the dancers.
