Bagia Pulekerti Paraded to Puseh Temple of Gianyar 1Thousands of customary villagers of Gianyar participated in the procession of parading the bagia pulekerti from Dalem Temple to Puseh Temple of Gianyar, Friday afternoon (Sep. 18). A total of 14 pieces of bagia pulekerti were paraded in the accompaniment of Gong Beri gamelan music, a sacred gong opening the way. The snaky procession runs orderly before ultimately arriving at the Puseh Temple.

It is in relation to the series of grandiose ritual held every 35 years at the Puseh Temple. Peak of the ritual will be held on Saturday (Oct. 3). Related to this event, ritual committee who is also the chief of Gianyar customary village, Dewa Made Geria, said that the customary villagers have been ready physically and mentally to carry out the grandiose ritual so as to run smoothly.

Implementation of the ceremony is expected to enhance people’s welfare and increase the nature conservation along with the entire content. Besides, it is expected to increase the awareness of humanity as a part of nature that must be properly maintained.
