Promoting Agricultural Products of Buleleng

Buleleng County organizes an extravagant Agro Festival again. If in 2014 it organized the Buyan Lake Festival, now it will hold the agro festival through the event entitled Twin Lakes Festival. It will last at two different lakes namely at the edge of Lake Buyan, Pancasari village, Sukasada subdistrict as well as at the edge of Lake Tamblingan, Munduk, Banjar subdistrict.

The Twin Lakes Festival takes place for four days namely on June 11-14, 2015. The event can become a means of promotion for the agricultural potential in Buleleng. The activities at Lake Buyan includes the competition of making non-rice snack, strawberry harvest, trekking, lion rowing boat race, competition of making chicken or duck lawar delicacy, competition of making fish lawar as well as fishing competition.
In the meantime, the activities at Lake Tamblingan tends to have natural nuance, such as  mass yoga and spinning top competition incidentally denoting the typical game of the four Dalem Tamblingan customary villages, trekking, camp jamboree involving 500 adventurers from across Bali as well as bike cross-country.
Committee Chairman of the Twin Lakes Festival, Nyoman Swatantra, explained that a new agenda in the festival is the campaign of eating local fruits. Besides, the committee also makes a means resembling a jumbo size gebogan (fruit arrangement) distributed to several locations. “Hopefully, local fruits of Buleleng can become favorite at its home region, so that they are not less inferior to imported fruits,” said Swatantra. Agenda of the Twin Lakes Festival has actually been held since May 29 filled with the action of mutual cleanup, tree planting and the Movement of Eating Fish (Gemari).
