Charms of the Underwater Parks

Charms of the Underwater ParksMenjangan Island’s marine biota park is very beautiful with its expanse of blue ocean and high seas. Menjangan Island, managed by the West Bali National Park (BTNBB), is not only appealing for its outstanding marine biota but also for its religious tourism. It is no wonder that many domestic and foreign travelers come to this exquisite island.
The underwater panorama is taken advantage of for snorkeling and diving. Travellers can access Menjagan Island from two boat harbors, one at Batu Ampar and one at Labuan Lalang at Pejarakan village, Gerokgak. Quite a lot of boats and tour guides are available to accompany visitors. On average each boat is able to accommodate ten passengers. Visitors must not litter and are required to respect and maintain the sanitation of the marine biota, and its ecosystem that includes ornamental fish and coral reef.
Ahmad, one of the boat service providers, said that the beauty of the underwater coral reef in the area of Menjangan Island is often visited by professional divers, who come here to enjoy the new sensation of diving in the sea of North Bali. The voyage to cross to the Menjangan Island takes less than 30 minutes. (BTN/kmb)www.bali-travelnews.com
